More about

Marble

The name marble comes from the Ancient Greek word mármaros, which means "shining stone" or "crystalline rock".

How marble forms

Marble is a natural stone formed over millions of years when limestone is subjected to intense heat and pressure within the earth’s crust. Each slab of marble is unique, with colour variations ranging from pure white to deep hues of grey, green, pink or black depending on the mineral content present during formation. Its signature veining patterns, caused by mineral impurities like iron oxide or clay, give marble its timeless elegance and make every piece a one-of-a-kind work of art.

Marble properties

Marble is prized for its luxurious appearance, smooth texture and enduring strength. As a metamorphic stone, it offers excellent polish ability, allowing for a high-gloss finish that enhances its natural beauty and depth of colour. Its natural coolness, elegant veining and wide range of colours make marble a timeless choice that adds sophistication and value to any space.

Marble uses

Marble is commonly used for countertops, vanities, flooring, wall cladding, fireplaces and staircases, as well as custom features like tables and decorative accents. Its smooth surface and striking veining make it a popular choice for both classic and contemporary designs. Whether featured in kitchens, bathrooms, entryways or reception areas, marble adds a timeless appeal that enhances the beauty and value of any project.
